Road Conditions

Several culverts on the Columbia side of Italian Bar road are clogged with debris, and water is or has been flowing over the road. Tried to call the County Public Works but they're office staff is on furlough til after the holidays so no answer. The road is passable but more heavy rain coud do some serious damage. Be careful.

    Followup to this post. Contacted Sherrif's Dept. to relay message to Public Works. They phoned back and will be sending a crew out to clear culverts tomorrow.

    Noted on mymotherlode.com, unfortunate story of a man in Groveland area drowned near a plugged culvert. A sad example of how dangerous the situation can be with large volumes of rushing water.
